Warrior Dash Here I Come: My First Warrior Dash & Giveaway

Since I entered the world of running and races, I have always been drawn to obstacle courses. I have heard a ton of great things about Warrior Dash. While I've had friends and family complete this race, and heard many fantastic stories, I have yet to complete my first Warrior Dash. Well, I am so thrilled and excited to announce that this year that will all change!

At the beginning of my weight loss at 280 lbs, and not being able to jog for 30 seconds, I could only dream of being able to run this course. I'm proud to say that I am now 120 lbs lighter, can run for over a mile without much effort, and I finally feel like I am ready to take on Warrior Dash!! I'm looking forward to having my own Warrior Dash stories that I can tell, and making some really awesome memories that will always be with me. Going through this incredible journey has given me much more confidence than I thought was possible. I feel better both mentally and physically, and this among many other reasons brought on my decision to fulfill one of my long term goals and take on Warrior Dash this year.

What is Warrior Dash, you ask?

Warrior Dash is known as the world's largest obstacle race series. An obstacle course race that anyone can start and finish. With 12 world class obstacles to conquer like Goliath, and Great Warrior Wall, you'll find yourself wading across wooded lakes, and venturing through muddy back roads... you'll definitely be putting your strength to the test. I am personally looking forward to conquering Muddy Mayhem. I love a good mud crawl! When you conquer all of the obstacles and make your way to the finish line, you'll be rewarded with a badass 2016 Warrior Dash finisher's medal, t-shirt, and a warrior helmet. Not to mention a cold beer (to participants 21 years of age and older), can't go wrong with that!!

I have many events that I would like to take part in this year so my training has intensified. Over the next 4 months months I hope to improve my strength, running time, speed, and endurance as I know this race can be brutal. I will be sure to post my training throughout on social media to let you all know what I am currently up to when it comes to my Warrior Dash training.

Come and join me and team Huff 'n Puff to Buff 'n Tough on the battleground at Dollinger Family Farm in Channahon, IL June 11, 2016  for the Illinois Warrior Dash and let's have the time of our lives!
