My FIRST 15K: Hot Chocolate 15K Chicago 2015 Race Recap

I did it! I completed my first 15K. It was a VERY emotional experience and I wouldn't trade my first 15K experience with anyone else's. November 8th was such a special day. The day before the race, I found out that I had hit my 100 lb weight loss. I surpassed it by 2 lbs. I think that is when I knew the following day would be a very emotional day for me. It really didn't hit me emotionally until the next day. I had a lot to do the day before the big race, so I didn't have time to think about it all that much.

Happy Halloween: Chicago Monster Dash 2015 Race Recap

I participated in the Monster Dash on Halloween morning and while I had a blast running in the 40 degree (Real Feel 32 degrees) cold and POURING rain in full out costume, there is a very slim chance that I will actually do this race again!

Ditka Dash 2015 Race Recap

Last month I did the Ditka Dash at Soldier Field. What a FUN race!!! Originally, I didn't have any interest in doing this race. It didn't spark my interest when I first seen advertisements for this on Facebook. I tagged hubby in the advertisement and it immediately sparked his interest, so we decided to sign up. I am extremely glad that I signed up for this. It was such an awesome race! At first, I was like okay, it's the same course at Soldier Field as a ton of other Chicago races and I was getting pretty bored with the same Soldier Field course, but they really threw me for a loop when I did the course.

The Great Pumpkin Run 2015 Recap

The Great Pumpkin Run was in Homer Glen, IL at Konow's Corn Maze last month and I had a B.L.A.S.T!!!!!!!! The run turned into a mud run because the area received four inches of rain 1-2 days before the race and the trails were EXTREMELY MUDDY!!! The mud was ankle deep and I almost lost my shoe numerous times! I took the "Tough Pumpkin Challenge" and I carried a 12 lb pumpkin for 3.1 miles. We were able to choose our own pumpkin of any weight. The week leading up to the race I knew I wanted to go heavy because this girl lifts heavy!! I was thinking 11 lbs and up. As the day got closer I started getting nervous thinking I should choose a lighter weight and constantly doubting myself.
